Jagdalpur, 15 October 2024/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today inaugurated the development work of Bastar Dasraha Pasra costing more than Rs 2 crore 99 lakh 78 thousand during his one-day stay in Bastar district. Here the old Tehsil office located near Danteshwari temple has been renovated and dedicated for Bastar Dussehra. It has been named Bastar Dasaraha Pasra (venue for Bastar Dussehra).

The Chief Minister observed the photo exhibition of various rituals of Bastar Dussehra, symbolic chariots and icons of Gods and Goddesses in Pasra and appreciated them. He also got photographed near the symbolic chariot.

The main rituals to be performed during the 75-day Dussehra festival in Dasara Pasra include Pat Jatra, Deri Gadhai, Kachhan Gaadi, Raila Devi Puja, Jogi Bithai, Rath Parikrama, Bel Puja, Nisha Jatra, Mavli Parghaav, Bhairat Raini-Bahar Raini Kachhan Jatra, An effort has been made to provide accessible information to the general public and tourists by setting up a live replica of Kutumba Jatra and Doli Vidaai.

The famous Bastar Dussehra festival is celebrated as a unique cultural festival of Chhattisgarh and worshiped by the tribal people of Bastar, Goddess Danteshwari and local deities. According to the already existing tradition in the Tehsil office, the presence of all the Gods and Goddesses, Angadev and Goddess Chhatra of the area participating in the Dussehra festival has been recorded at this place. Therefore, the administration has shifted the Tehsil office to another place and marked the old Tehsil office for Dasaraha Pasra.
