Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai distributed prasad to the devotees and devotees in the Bhoramdev temple premises. Baba Bhoramdev temple is an ancient, historical and archaeological site of 11th century in village Chaura, 18 km from Kawardha. Lord Shiva is enthroned in this temple. The tradition of water consecration of Lord Shiva, the God of Gods, Mahadev, has been going on for centuries.
Every year during the month of Shravan, Kanwarias travel on foot to offer water to Shiva temples, which is known as Kanwar Yatra. In this holy month of Sawan, thousands of Kanwariyas travel on foot from Kabirdham, neighbouring districts Mungeli, Bemetara, Khairagarh, Rajnandgaon and Amarkantak in Madhya Pradesh to perform Jalabhishek at Baba Bhoramdev Temple, Budha Mahadev Temple and the ancient Jaleshwar Shivaling of Dongaria in Chhattisgarh’s historical, archaeological, religious and tourist importance places. In the holy month of Sawan, Shiva devotees are performing Jalabhishek on the 150 km long Kanwar Yatra from Amarkantak to Bhoramdev Temple.
