In the Swachhta Hi Seva program organized at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that Swachhta Hi Seva Fortnight is being celebrated in the entire country. Swachhta Hi Seva Pakhwada program was organized from 17th September, the birth anniversary of Lord Vishwakarma and the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to 2nd October, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. He said that to encourage cleanliness, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given a pledge of cleanliness to everyone from the ramparts of the Red Fort on August 15, 2014. He said that the Prime Minister’s call and cleanliness campaign inspired all of us to keep streets, intersections, localities, schools, offices and public places clean. The cleanliness campaign has taken the form of a mass movement in the entire state. It is the moral duty of all of us to make Chhattisgarh beautiful and clean.

The Chief Minister further said that we all need to make cleanliness our habit. He appealed to the people to take a pledge to make Chhattisgarh a beautiful and clean Chhattisgarh and administered the oath of cleanliness to everyone present in the auditorium. He said that President Mahatma Gandhi had said that along with freedom, cleanliness is also important. Prime Minister Narendra Modi started Bapu’s dream by holding a broom in his hand. People of the country should participate in the cleanliness campaign. Everyone should include cleanliness in their habit. In the program, he honored the organizations and individuals who have done excellent work in the field of cleanliness and under Swachhta Hi Seva 2024. During this, he handed over the keys of the houses to the beneficiaries of the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme. Similarly, for mosquito eradication, mobile vehicles and vehicles for a grand and powerful military function were flagged off.

Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap said that extensive work has been done for cleanliness in the state. It is the responsibility of all of us to maintain cleanliness. Let us all take a pledge that we will pay attention to cleanliness ourselves and inspire people. In the last 10 years, the picture of the country has changed due to the work being done under the Swachh Bharat Mission.

Raipur MP Brijmohan Aggarwal said that filth gives rise to various types of diseases. Cleanliness is very important to avoid these diseases. The country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the message of cleanliness by running the Swachh Bharat Mission. To fulfill Gandhi’s dreams, our government is paying full attention to cleanliness along with self-reliant villages. In this closing ceremony of Swachhta Pakhwada, Safai Karmacharis, Safai Didis and Safai Mitras are being honoured.
