Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday targeted Congress and National Conference (NC), strongly criticizing both the parties’ call for restoration of Articles 370 and 35A. The Chief Minister was addressing a function organized by All India Bhojpuri Samaj at Laxman Mela Ground here on the occasion of Chhath Puja.
Citing the recent incident of bringing a proposal to restore these articles in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, he claimed that Congress and its allies want to push the country and the valley into the fire of terrorism again. He said, “The development of Jammu and Kashmir and the bright future of the children there are not being tolerated due to this. The country will never accept their disruptive policies. 140 crore people of the country are standing firmly for the unity and integrity of the country in every situation and are ready to give a befitting reply to those who play with it. Adityanath said that if Congress does not oppose this proposal, it will also meet the same fate as Articles 370 and 35A.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of Chhath Puja and stressed the need to protect national unity and integrity. He said, “When we are divided on the basis of caste and religion, then others rule over us.” Yogi Adityanath said, “Through these festivals we all come together, but some people living in India are destroying the identity of the country. No true Indian should tolerate this. When we say 140 crores together, no one will be able to look at India.”
Pointing to the Congress and the NC, Adityanath said their activities in Kashmir “reflect a dangerous disregard for national unity, which the nation will never tolerate.” The Chief Minister called on the Congress to condemn the resolution passed in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly. He said that if Congress does not do this, it will meet the same fate as Article 370 and 35A in Kashmir.
The Chief Minister reminded that on August 5, 2019, Prime Minister Modi put the final nail in the coffin of terrorism in the Kashmir Valley by abrogating Articles 370 and 35A. He said, “This historic decision accepted by the Parliament abolished the special status of Jammu and Kashmir from the Constitution. After this the world saw a new powerful India which was peaceful but determined to protect itself. Was.” The Chief Minister stressed India’s commitment to protect its sovereignty and integrity and said that the nation is ready to make any sacrifice to protect its identity and unity.
Making a strong attack on Congress, he said that despite the objection of Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Congress included Article 370 in the Constitution, due to which Kashmir went on the path of violence and terrorism. Adityanath recalled the events that followed, which included widespread violence, targeted killings of Kashmiri Pandits and brutal attacks on anyone who spoke out in support of India.
He said, “Congress had initially termed Article 370 as a ‘temporary provision’, but Prime Minister Modi took the bold step of abolishing it. “Today Kashmir is moving on the path of progress with new educational institutions, hospitals, industries and a new sense of security.” Adityanath said that Article 370 cannot and will not be restored. He said that this was the root cause of mass violence, terrorism and the massacre of countless innocent people. He said that it had encouraged religious extremism and made the region a hotbed of terrorism. Which destroyed the social harmony and beauty of Kashmir.
