Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar/Nanded/Pune. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that the contest in the Maharashtra Assembly elections is between patriots who believe in Sambhaji Maharaj and those who praise Aurangzeb. Addressing an election rally here, Modi said, “This election in Maharashtra is not just an election to elect a new government. In this election, on one hand there are patriots who believe in Sambhaji Maharaj and on the other hand there are people who praise Aurangzeb. Some people see their messiah in the murderer of Sambhaji Maharaj.” Sambhaji Maharaj was the eldest son of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who laid the foundation of the Maratha Empire and was assassinated by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb at the age of just 32.
Modi said that the whole of Maharashtra knows that the demand to give this name to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar was raised by Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray. He said, “The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government remained in power for two and a half years but under the pressure of Congress, these people did not have the courage. Whereas the Mahayuti government named this city Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar as soon as it came. We fulfilled your wish, we fulfilled Balasaheb Thackeray’s wish.” The Prime Minister claimed that Congress and MVA suffered the most when Aurangabad was made Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
He said, “Their parents had gone to court to overturn this decision.” The Prime Minister alleged that Congress does not rely on development but on division to form the government. She also claimed that she prevents Dalits, backward classes and tribals from progressing so that she can retain power from generation to generation.
He said, “That is why Congress has been against reservation from the beginning. These days, pictures of old newspapers are going viral on the internet. What is the real thinking of Congress regarding reservation is clearly visible in those advertisements. “Congress used to call reservation against the country and against merit.” Modi said that the mentality of the Congress and the agenda of the Congress are still the same, that is why the Prime Minister of the Other Backward Class (OBC) community is not tolerating them for the last 10 years.
He said, “The ‘Princes’ of Congress go abroad and openly declare that they will abolish reservation. Now, to further their agenda, Congress and Aghadi are conspiring to divide the SC, ST and OBC society into smaller castes. The Prime Minister said that the Congress is thinking that if the OBCs are divided into castes, their strength will reduce and when the strength of the society will reduce, it will get benefits while sitting.
He said, “It is from here that Congress is looking to return to power. If Congress gets a chance to come to government then it will stop reservation for SC, ST and OBC. Calling upon the people to avoid ‘these conspiracies’ and remain united, the Prime Minister once again raised the slogan ‘If we are together, we are safe’. In almost all the previous election public meetings, Prime Minister Modi has raised this issue strongly and has raised the slogan ‘If we are united, we are safe’. In this rally, the Prime Minister also raised the issue of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and said that Congress is speaking the ‘language of Pakistan’ by demanding its restoration.
He said that no one can bring back Article 370 because his government has buried it in the ground. He said that the country will never support the demand for restoration of Article 370. Referring to the water crisis in the Marathwada region, Modi said that the Aghadi people have done nothing except increasing the problems of the people and have always remained idle.
He said, “For the first time in our government, concrete efforts against drought started.” He said, “If these Aghadi people come to power, they will make you yearn for every drop of water.” You are requested not to allow these Aghadi people to enter. That’s why I say, ‘BJP – Mahayuti ahe, tar gati ahe, Maharashtraachi pragati ahe’.”

It is our history that all people come together and face the war. The war will be fought on 20 November. This question should be asked after November 23 (election results). We are preparing for war.” When asked whether the Maratha quota agitation led by activist Manoj Jarrange will have an impact on the assembly election results as was seen during this year’s Lok Sabha elections, he said only development and progress has an impact in Maharashtra.
Congress does not fulfill its election promises: Jairam Thakur
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Jairam Thakur said on Thursday that the people of Maharashtra should understand that the Congress has failed to fulfill the election promises made in Himachal. Thakur told reporters here that the Congress had listed 10 ‘guarantees’, including giving Rs 1,500 per month to women, in its manifesto for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, but none of these guarantees were fulfilled. To reinforce his point, he also showed video clips of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu.
In the elections held in December 2022 in Himachal Pradesh, Congress ousted BJP from power by winning 40 out of 68 seats. He alleged, “Congress had promised to give Rs 1500 per month to women. It’s been two years, but the promise has still not been fulfilled. He had also promised to provide free electricity, which has not been fulfilled yet. Congress had promised jobs, but instead canceled 1.5 lakh posts in the state. The financial situation of Himachal Pradesh is such that there is no money for the salaries of government employees and pension of retired people. ,
