CRPF jawan resident of Dhamtari killed in road accident in Balaghat, four others injured

Bhopal. A patrol vehicle of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) collided with a tree in the Naxal-affected Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday, killing one soldier and injuring four others. Police gave this information. Balaghat Superintendent of Police Nagendra Singh told PTI that in this accident, Tarakeshwar (22), a resident of Dhamtari in the neighboring state of Chhattisgarh, died on the spot and four others were injured.

He said that the injured – inspector Umesh (30), assistant sub-inspector Yadunandan Paswan (57), Birju Das (44) and jawan Rakesh Yadav – are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Gondia district of neighboring state Maharashtra. Singh told that all of them were attached to 7th D Company 4 of CRPF and were on patrol. At the same time, his SUV car collided with a tree near Kudan village. This village is about 100 kilometers away from the district headquarters. The Superintendent of Police said that the driver of this rented car fled from the spot after the accident.
