Death threat to BJP MLA who made objectionable comment on Mayawati, case filed

Mathura. Rajesh Chaudhary, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Mant seat of Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, has lodged a complaint of receiving death threats. Chaudhary had described former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati as the most corrupt leader during a television discussion on August 23. Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav and Azad Samaj Party chief and MP Chandrashekhar Azad had strongly criticized his remarks. Chaudhary, in a report filed against unknown people on Saturday, alleged that on the night of August 25, someone called him and threatened to kill him and his son.

According to the complaint, on August 30, someone called Chaudhary and abused him, used casteist slurs and threatened him saying, “You give too many statements on TV. We will see you. Our leader has ordered us to kill you.” Chaudhary said in the complaint that he is also receiving threats through social media platform ‘X’ and some people have announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh to anyone who brings his tongue after cutting it.
