The Uncut

New Delhi. Delhi Police took detained climate activist Soman Wangchuk and 170 other people from Ladakh to Rajghat. An official provided this information on Wednesday. Police had detained Wangchuk and others two days ago for violating prohibitory orders.

Wangchuk was leading the ‘Dilli Chalo Padyatra’, which had started from Leh a month ago. He was taken into custody on Monday night.
The pilgrims who set out from Leh on September 1 completed the entire route on foot except in the election state of Haryana. They boarded buses in Haryana. He was detained at Singhu border in Delhi on Monday night and taken to different police stations, where he started an indefinite fast.

The march was organized by the ‘Leh Apex Body’ (LAB) in collaboration with the ‘Kargil Democratic Alliance’, which for the last four years has been campaigning for statehood for Ladakh, establishment of Public Service Commission for Ladakh and early recruitment process. And is agitating for separate Lok Sabha seats in Leh and Kargil districts and other demands.
