Raipur. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw has paid his respects to the pioneer of integral humanism, renowned thinker and philosopher Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on his birth anniversary. He paid tribute to him by garlanding his statue in Bilaspur’s Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Udyan. During this time, he also participated in the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ fortnight organized by Bilaspur Municipal Corporation. He cleaned the garden by sweeping it along with MLAs and other public representatives.
Deputy Chief Minister Saw flagged off the Swachhata Marathon. He also distributed sarees and kits to the Swachhata Didi’s. MLAs Dharamlal Kaushik, Dharamjit Singh and Sushant Shukla, District Panchayat Chairman Arun Singh Chauhan, Collector Avneesh Sharan and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Amit Kumar also attended the programme organised under Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada.
Addressing the program, Deputy Chief Minister Sao said that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya was a great thinker and philosopher of the country. He gave a new direction to modern politics. It was his idea that our country should progress in accordance with the heritage of the country. By carrying out development in accordance with his ideology, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking the country forward and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai is taking the state forward. The whole world is accepting that the 21st century belongs to India and India will lead the world.
Sao said that Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay gave cleanliness the highest place in life. It is directly related to our well-being and health. The Government of India and the State Government are continuously working on cleanliness. The mission of cleanliness will be completed and successful only with public participation and public cooperation. He told that councilor Durga Soni has announced to give five lakh rupees to install a new statue of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay in the garden.
MLA Dharamlal Kaushik also addressed the function. People from all sections of the city participated in the cleanliness marathon organized under the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ fortnight. Water and glucose were arranged by the Municipal Corporation at the intersections for the participants. Former Chairman of Chhattisgarh Housing Board Bhupendra Savnani, Leader of Opposition in the Municipal Corporation Rajesh Singh and CEO of the District Panchayat R.P. Chauhan were also present in the program.
