Despite diversity, India is one nation and one society: RSS chief Bhagwat

The Uncut

Ghazipur. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Monday that whatever may be visible from the surface, love and devotion towards motherland India is everywhere and despite diversity, India is one nation and one society. The Sangh chief released a book written on Veer Abdul Hamid, awarded ‘Paramveer Chakra’, at a program organized in Ghazipur’s village Dhamupur. Veer Abdul Hamid, who was the hero of the 1965 Indo-Pak war, is known for destroying Pakistan’s Patton tanks and driving away the enemies. He was awarded the Paramveer Chakra posthumously.

In his address after the book release, the RSS chief said, “Our country has so many languages, it is such a big country, it has very ancient traditions. When every person has his own ideas, then there will be many types of worship, tradition, sect.” He said, “Food habits, customs change according to geographical conditions. Despite all these differences, our country has been functioning as a nation for thousands of years and we are one nation and one society.”

Bhagwat said, “Examples of this can also be seen. Whenever any country attacks our country, as China and Pakistan did. In such situations, all the countrymen forget their mutual fights and stand together because this unity is in our core.” He said, “The basis of this is that we all not only love our country but also worship it. We do not think at that time what has the country given us?” He said that if we think that the country did not give us this, did not give us that, then in reality the country has given us everything.

The RSS chief said, “Whatever may be visible from the outside, but love and devotion towards our motherland India is everywhere. The ideals of our ancestors who shed blood and sweat for their motherland and ancient culture connect us all. These are the things that unite us.” He said, “Heroes like Abdul Hamid are exemplary examples for us. He sacrificed his life for the country. We can read in scriptures, hear in speeches about how life should be, but the courage to do so comes only when someone like us shows it with courage.” Bhagwat said, “The countrymen should imitate such ideals and become like them. Only when we become like them, the country grows and the world gets peace and happiness. We all should bring change in our lives by remembering and imitating the martyrs.”
