Dhamtari. In Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-affected Dhamtari district, a rewarded Naxal couple surrendered before the security forces. Police officials gave this information on Sunday. Officials said that Naxal Tikesh alias Tikeshwar Vatti and his wife Pramila alias Ganeshi Netam have surrendered before the security forces in the district.
He said that Tikesh is a member of Nagari Area Committee and Gobara LOS and Pramila is a member of Sita Nadi Area Committee. There is a reward of Rs 5 lakh each on their heads. Officials said that the surrendered Naxal couple informed the police that they were being deprived of marital life and family happiness by staying in the Naxal organization.
Dismayed by the lifestyle and ideology of Naxals, he has resolved to stay connected with the mainstream of the society.
He said that the Naxalites are accused of being involved in many incidents including murder, attempt to murder, encounter with security forces, planting landmines. Officials said that 32 cases are registered against Tikesh and 14 against Pramila in various police stations. He said that after surrender, both of them have been given a cash incentive of Rs 25,000 under the surrender and rehabilitation policy of the government.
