Bilaspur. On Sunday, a private bus collided with a truck parked on the roadside in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh, due to which the bus driver died while 16 other passengers were injured. Police gave this information. Hirri police station in-charge Kishore Kevat said that the accident took place in the early hours near Dhaurabhata village on Bilaspur-Raipur highway.
He told that the bus carrying 50 people was going from Gaya in Bihar to the state capital Raipur and it collided with the rear of a truck parked on the roadside. He said that the collision was so severe that the bus driver died on the spot while 16 other people resident of Raipur were injured. The officer said that the deceased has been identified as Ghanshyam Chauhan (35).
He said that as soon as information about the incident was received, a police team reached the spot and took the injured passengers to the nearby health center. He said that two of them were later shifted from Bilha Health Center to Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences in Bilaspur for further treatment. He said that the police have registered a case and the incident is being investigated.
