Durg. The police of Durg district of Chhattisgarh have arrested three people, including a woman, from Mumbai on charges of human trafficking in the name of getting jobs and cheating of Rs 2 lakh. Police officials gave this information on Wednesday. Police officials said that on the complaint of a person resident of Bhilai, the police have arrested Mumbai residents Sajan Shaikh (36), Rafiq Khan (42) and a woman.
He told that the complainant had registered a case in the cyber police station of Durg that he had been defrauded of Rs 2 lakh by showing him an advertisement for the job of a computer operator at a huge salary in Laos. Officials said that based on the complaint, the police registered a case and started investigation.
He said that when the complainant was interrogated in this regard, he told that where the accused had sent him in the name of getting a job as a computer operator in Laos, he was given training in cheating and when he refused to do this work, When I did, it was sent back and the money was not returned.
He told that after receiving this information, the police added a section related to human trafficking in this case and investigated the matter.
The officer said that during the investigation, the police got information that the accused were in Goregaon, Mumbai, after which a police team was sent from Durg to Mumbai and the accused were arrested.
Officials said that during interrogation of the accused, information was received that they used to send people to other countries by showing advertisements for jobs abroad, for this they had formed a company named VS Enterprises Manpower Consultancy Private Limited in 2022.
Officials said that the accused used to take money through this company in the name of providing jobs and visa services in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Oman, Kuwait.
He told that the accused Rafiq Khan had introduced the complainant to a woman and Saajan Shaikh to get the job of a computer operator in Laos. He said that all three took lakhs of rupees in the name of service charges by taking the complainant into confidence. Officials said that after this the accused sent him to Laos via Thailand, where he was shown some videos, which were of cyber fraud, to work as a computer operator.
He said that when the complainant refused to work, he was detained for about five days and sent back, but the two lakh rupees were not returned. He told that information has been received that the accused sent many people abroad by luring them. Officials said that action will be taken through Interpol to save people trapped in cyber slavery in Laos and Thailand.
