Narayanpur: Eight Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-affected Narayanpur district. One security force jawan was martyred and two others were injured in this incident. Police officials gave this information on Saturday.

Police officials said that the anti-naxal operation was launched on the 12th of this month in the forests of Kutul, Farasbeda and Kodtameta villages located in Abujhmad area of ​​the district. They said that the DRG of Narayanpur-Kondagaon-Kanker-Dantewada district, Special Task Force and the 53rd Battalion of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) are involved in the operation.

Police officials said that since this morning, an encounter is going on between security forces and Naxalites. In this encounter, security forces have killed eight Naxalites. They said that in this incident, one security force jawan has been martyred and two other jawans are injured. Efforts are being made to take the injured jawans out of the forest.

Officials said that in the last two days, there has been intermittent firing in the area. Search operation is going on in the area. Earlier on Friday, two jawans of Indo-Tibetan Border Police were injured in a landmine explosion near Kutul village under Kohkameta police station area.
