Raipur. Since the Model Code of Conduct came into effect on March 16 for the Lok Sabha General Elections-2024 in the state, till April 1, illegal money and items worth Rs 30 crore 47 lakh have been seized. This includes cash amount of Rs 9 crore 11 lakh.

According to the information received from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, during the monitoring by the enforcement agencies till last April 1, 24 thousand 226 liters of illicit liquor has been seized, which is worth Rs 56 lakh. Besides, 885 kg of other intoxicants worth Rs 1 crore 60 lakh have also been seized. During the intensive investigation operation, 24.16 kg of precious jewelery and gems worth Rs 1 crore 64 lakh were also seized. Apart from this, other materials, worth Rs 17 crore 58 lakh, have also been seized.
