Bijapur. Five Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, including an officer, were injured on Sunday in an IED planted by Naxalites in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. The officers provided this information. A police official said that the incident took place around 7 am in the morning under Tarem police station area when 153 battalion of CRPF was out for the removal of explosives. This team was from Chinnegelur CRPF camp.
He said that during the operation to detect and destroy the IED, the security personnel saw a wire attached to the explosive and when they were searching for the bomb attached to the wire, it exploded, injuring five security personnel. A CRPF official said that the soldiers suffered injuries on the face, eyes and upper stomach. After first aid, the injured soldiers were taken to the state capital Raipur, about 430 km from here. The injured soldiers include CRPF Assistant Commandant Vaidya Sanket Devidas, Inspector Sanjay Kumar and constables B Pawan Kalyan, Lochan Mahato and Dhole Rajendra Ashruba.
