Former DGP Lathar appointed Chief Information Commissioner of Rajasthan

Jaipur: Mohanlal Lathar, who has been the state’s Director General of Police (DGP), has been appointed as the new Chief Information Commissioner of Rajasthan. Governor Kalraj Mishra has issued orders in this regard.

Along with this, three Information Commissioners have also been appointed. According to the statement of Raj Bhavan, the Governor has appointed Mohanlal Lathar to the post of Chief Information Commissioner. Along with this, Suresh Chand Gupta, Mahendra Kumar Parikh and Tikaram Sharma have been appointed as Information Commissioners.

The appointment to the posts of Chief Information Commissioner and Commissioner of the State has been made for a term of three years from the date of assuming charge or till the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.

Lathar, a retired Indian Police Service officer, has been the Director General of Police (DGP) of Rajasthan. He retired from the post of DGP in November 2022 and was made Information Commissioner in January 2023.
