The Uncut

New Delhi. The government on Thursday declared the Islamist group Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HUT) a banned organization because it aims to establish an Islamic state and caliphate globally through jihad and terrorist activities.
The global Islamic group HUT was formed in Jerusalem in 1953.

The Union Home Ministry said in a notification that HUT is involved in radicalizing the youth and motivating them to join terrorist organizations like ISIS and raising funds for terrorist activities. HUT is promoting terrorism by encouraging youth to join terrorist activities using various social media platforms, secure apps and by holding ‘Dawaah’ (invitation) meetings.

The Home Ministry said that HUT is an organization whose objective is to overthrow democratically elected governments through jihad and terrorist activities by involving the citizens of the country (in the group) and establish Islamic nation and caliphate across the world including India. This is a serious threat to the country’s democratic system and internal security. Declaring the group a banned organization under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, the notification said, “The Central Government is of the view that Hizb-ut-Tahrir is involved in terrorism and has committed various acts of terrorism in India.” Has indulged.”
