The Uncut

Mumbai: Maharashtra government minister and Shiv Sena leader Shambhuraj Desai on Wednesday said the victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haryana will have a positive impact in the upcoming assembly elections in the state and will lead to victory for the ruling alliance Mahayuti.

Addressing a press conference along with Mahayuti leaders and BJP MLC and alliance coordinator Prasad Lad, Desai said the parties in the alliance have completed their homework related to candidate selection and seat distribution.

Desai also announced the names of assembly coordinators of the three alliance parties, Shiv Sena, BJP and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), for all 288 seats, who have been asked to work at the booth level.

Desai said, Haryana elections will definitely have a positive impact on Maharashtra elections also. In Haryana, BJP has won for the third consecutive time by defeating its nearest rival Congress.

Desai said that leaders of the three parties Eknath Nishde (Shiv Sena), Devendra Fadnavis (BJP) and Ajit Pawar (NCP) will decide on the chief ministerial face of the Mahayuti.

Talking about the election strategy, Desai said that all the alliance partners are taking precautions so that there is no rebellion over the distribution of tickets. He said, once the candidate of any party is declared, other ticket aspirants will also be talked to so as to ensure better coordination.

In case of rebellion, the coordination committee of the Mahayuti parties will resolve the issues at the district and assembly constituency levels. He said that the Mahayuti parties have learned a lesson from the setback in the Lok Sabha elections and have ensured necessary changes before the Assembly elections.

In Maharashtra, Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress and NCP (SP), part of the ‘India’ alliance, had won 30 out of 48 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, while the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) could win 17 seats.
