New Delhi: The Congress on Thursday released its fourth list of five candidates for the Haryana Assembly elections, taking the total number of declared candidates to 86. The Congress has fielded Parimal Pari from Ambala Cantt, Sachin Kundu from Panipat Rural, Satbir Dablain from Narwana (reserved), Sarv Mitra Kamboj from Rania and Rohit Nagar from Tigaon.
This list of names of candidates comes just hours after the party announced its third list of 40 candidates. Congress has not announced the names of candidates for four seats, leading to speculation about the possibility of last minute alliances on those seats.
There have been speculations about an alliance between the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the past few days, although Arvind Kejriwal’s party has announced 70 candidates so far. However, the possibility of an alliance with the AAP has not been officially ruled out by the Congress leadership.
Today is the last day for filing nomination papers. Before this, Congress announced 40 more candidates on Wednesday. The prominent name among them is Aditya Surjewala, son of party general secretary Randeep Surjewala, who has been given a ticket from Kaithal.
The Congress has fielded former deputy chief minister Chander Mohan from Panchkula, Ramniwas Rara from Hisar, Pradeep Narwal from Bawani Khera, Nirmal Singh from Ambala City, Bharat Singh Beniwal from Ellenabad and Chander Prakash from Adampur.
Lakhan Kumar Singhla from Faridabad, Parag Sharma from Ballabhgarh, Balwan Singh Daulatpuria from Fatehabad and Mohammad Israel from Hathin have been fielded in the election. Voting for 90 assembly seats in Haryana will be held in one phase on October 5 and counting of votes will take place on October 8.
