Governor Ramen Deka and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today participated in the parade program organized on the occasion of Police Memorial Day in the premises of 4th Corps Chhattisgarh Armed Forces, Mana Raipur. The Governor and the Chief Minister, on behalf of all the people of the state, paid tribute to the martyred brave police personnel by laying a wreath at the martyr’s memorial. The Governor and the Chief Minister met the families of the martyred police officers and soldiers and expressed their condolences and assured to always stand with them. Presented them shawl, quince and souvenirs.

On this occasion, Governor Deka said in his tribute address that the work of the police is of utmost accountability. The common people are requested to have a humane attitude towards the police personnel and help them in their work. He said that on one hand they work as per the instructions of the government to maintain law and order. On the other hand, it is their responsibility to maintain order in the society and the citizens do not have to face any kind of inconvenience. The Governor said that police personnel are also leaving their families behind and working. Treat them like a family member, give them respect. Your two sweet words will bring positive changes in their behaviour. This good behavior will remove all their fatigue and they will do their duty with double the enthusiasm.

The Governor further said that in a state like Chhattisgarh, where the Naxalite problem has been a serious challenge, the way our police faced this problem with courage, patience and devotion is commendable. Due to the promptness and devotion of the police, today a positive change is being seen for security and peace in Naxal affected areas. To deal with Naxalite activities, the police and armed forces have not only adopted strict tactics but have also established better coordination and communication with the local communities. Due to which the feeling of trust and security has increased in those areas and in the coming time the Naxal problem will be completely eradicated.

In the program, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said that it is a day to remember and salute the contribution of police and security forces. It is also a day to take a pledge to carry forward the great traditions of the police and security forces. He said that Police Memorial Day reminds us of the bravery, valor, sacrifice, patriotism, vigilance and history of our police forces. It is because of their vigilance that law and order is maintained in the country and new dimensions of development are established. Sai said that police personnel are contributing in the development of Naxal affected areas and extending the benefits of government schemes to inaccessible areas.

Governor Ramen Deka reached Shaheed Vatika located at Rajiv Smriti Van in the capital Raipur today on the occasion of Police Memorial Day. He paid tribute to the martyrs at Amar Jawan Stambh here. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, who was present with him, also paid tribute to the martyrs. During this, the Governor and the Chief Minister paid homage to the plaque with the names of the martyrs. Senior police officers including Director General of Police Ashok Juneja were present on this occasion.
