Sultanpur: The hearing in the defamation case filed against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the special court of MP-MLA (MP/MLA) in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh was postponed on Wednesday. The officers provided this information. He told that the hearing was postponed due to Rahul’s lawyer being ill and now the next hearing will be held on December 16.
Earlier on November 23, the hearing was postponed due to the organization of a legal workshop in the Civil Court. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vijay Mishra, who lives in Hanumanganj area of the district, had filed a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi in the year 2018.
Mishra’s advocate Santosh Pandey said that today (Wednesday) his client (Vijay Mishra) was to be cross-examined and he had also appeared in the court, but Rahul Gandhi’s lawyer Kashi Prasad Shukla filed a letter of illness in the court, due to which Later the court fixed December 16 as the date of next hearing.
Mishra had accused Rahul of making indecent remarks against Home Minister Amit Shah during the Karnataka Assembly elections in 2018. According to Mishra, Rahul had appeared in the court in February this year in the middle of his ‘Bharat Jodo, Nyay Yatra’, from where he was granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 25,000 each.
