New Delhi. Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal claimed on Thursday that the BJP-led central government had arrested him to prove him ‘dishonest’ in the eyes of the people of the city and to stop development works, but the BJP-led central government had arrested him to prove him ‘dishonest’. The tactics have failed and all the stalled work will be started. Kejriwal fiercely targeted BJP on the first day of the two-day special session of Delhi Assembly. Kejriwal said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government could not break the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) despite arresting five leaders of his party, but if two BJP leaders are sent to jail, the entire party will break.
The national convenor of AAP alleged, “By sending me to jail, their aim was to defame the Aam Aadmi Party government so that they could get votes. These people have been out of power in Delhi for the last 27 years. His exile has been going on for 27 years and the people of Delhi are not voting for him. Therefore, they want to get votes by harassing the people of Delhi.” Kejriwal claimed, “The people of Delhi have two things in their minds. First, Kejriwal is staunchly honest…. Second, Kejriwal works for the people. These people wanted to attack these two things ingrained in the minds of the people of Delhi. These people wanted to prove Kejriwal dishonest and show that all his work had come to a standstill.” The AAP leader said that if the BJP had built all the roads in Delhi, they would definitely have won, because people would not vote for stopping work or spoiling the work, but would vote for doing good work.
He said, “In my absence, these people would have got all the roads of Delhi built and would have said that Kejriwal is in jail, but we are getting the roads built. If they had done this, they would definitely have won…but they do not think like this.” The former Chief Minister said that all his tactics to prove Kejriwal as dishonest had failed. Kejriwal said, “. I am roaming around Delhi, but not even a child says that Kejriwal is dishonest. Even staunch workers of RSS and BJP do not say that Kejriwal is dishonest.”
He said, “I want to tell the people of Delhi, your son and your brother have come, all the work they have stopped will be restarted. I will do whatever has to be done for this, but I will not let the people of Delhi suffer.” Taking on the Prime Minister, the former Chief Minister said that he always says that Modi is very powerful and “he has immense money and resources, but Modi ji is not God.” The AAP leader said, “Although there is some power in this world, whom some call God… that power is with us. I thank the Supreme Court. Today there is a justice system in our country.” Kejriwal advised BJP leaders not to be arrogant and have “a little fear of God”.
Kejriwal claimed that the BJP government has jailed him, Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, Sanjay Singh, Vibhav Kumar, Vijay Nair in “fake cases” and said that even after putting the top five leaders in jail, the common man The party stands with full strength. He said, “I also challenge that if two big leaders of his party are put in jail, then the entire party will break.” The ‘AAP’ convenor said that he had no desire for power and after coming out of jail, he resigned from the post of Chief Minister without anyone’s demand.
Citing the BJP’s undisclosed rule of not giving official posts after the age of 75, he claimed, “A senior RSS leader told me that the RSS has given an ultimatum that the 75-year rule will be implemented, but that ( Modi) is not agreeing. It is very difficult to give up the greed for power.” Kejriwal said that he himself made the rule of 75 years and under that rule the resignations of senior leaders were taken. Referring to the removal of 10,000 marshals from public buses, Kejriwal claimed that the BJP removed bus marshals coming from poor families.
He said that when there were marshals, women traveling in buses used to get security, but after the withdrawal of bus marshals the situation became the same as before. Kejriwal accused the BJP of disrupting several schemes like old age pension, pilgrimage for the elderly and free medicines in hospitals. Kejriwal also accused the administration of cutting 11 thousand trees after he went to jail.
