New Delhi. Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Tuesday that India is committed to leading the world in the field of 6G. He described the country’s telecom sector as “fast growing” and “ambitious”. Speaking at the inauguration of the India Mobile Congress and the World Telecommunication Standardization (WTSA) 2024, Scindia said, “This is our belief and our commitment… India followed the world in 4G, we moved forward with the world in 5G, but we are in 6G.” I will lead the world.” Scindia said that 5G services were started fastest in India. In a span of just 21 months, it was extended to 98 percent of the districts and 90 percent of the villages.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims not only to adopt 6G technology but also to make the country a leader in this direction. The Minister said, “It is notable that the India Mobile Congress and the International 6G Symposium showcase local and global progress in 6G….” Scindia said the recent changes in the Telecom Act 2023 were designed to modernize India’s telecom infrastructure, highlight hitherto unexplored areas such as high-potential areas of satellite communications, digital The challenges of the era can be solved, the most important of which is cyber security.
He said, “Like other sectors important for development in India, the telecom sector is also fast-growing and ambitious and aims to lead the world in our journey from Amrit Kaal to Shatabdi Kaal.” India Mobile Congress (IMC) is an annual event organized by the Department of Telecommunications (DoE) and Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI). More than 400 exhibitors, around 900 startups and more than 120 countries will participate in IMC 2024. Nearly 3,200 representatives from more than 160 countries are part of WTSA.
