Indian shooters will go to strengthen their preparations before Paris Olympics

The Uncut

Munich: Indian shooters will try to strengthen their preparations in the ISSF World Cup (Pistol/Rifle) starting here on Saturday before the Paris Olympics. Many Indian shooters recently participated in the trials that lasted for about a month in New Delhi and Bhopal and they did not want to play in this World Cup to prepare for the Olympics.

But the National Rifle Association of India has made participation in the World Cup compulsory and in such a situation pistol and rifle shooters would like to test their preparation for the Olympics in this competition. At a time when many other countries have announced their team for the Paris Olympics, India has not yet announced its team.

This is indeed strange because shooters need time to get into the rhythm, get used to the equipment and it is important for any shooter to do such preparations before the Olympics and World Championships.

However, the World Cup will give Indian shooters an opportunity to test and maintain their equipment before the Olympics. The World Cup will begin with 10 meter air rifle in men’s and women’s categories. The finals of both the categories will be held on Monday.

Sandeep Singh, Arjun Babuta and Rudraksh Patil will compete in the men’s 10m air rifle event, while Elavenil Valarivan, Ramitha and Tillottama Sen will compete in the women’s 10m air rifle event.
