India’s Tanya Hemant won the women’s singles title of the Bendigo International Challenge Badminton Tournament by defeating Tung Siou Tong of Chinese Taipei in straight games here on Sunday. Second seed Tanya defeated sixth seed Tung 21-17, 21-17 in the women’s singles final that lasted 41 minutes. This is 21 year old Tanya’s third international title and her first title of the year. She was the runner-up at the Polish Open and Azerbaijan International in 2024.
Tanya won the title of India International in 2022 and Iran Fajr International in 2023. In the men’s doubles final, India’s top seeded pair of Hariharan Amsakarunan and Ruban Kumar Rethinasabapathy lost 17-21, 14-21 against Chinese Taipei pair of Chen Cheng Kuan and Po Li Wei.
