The Uncut

New Delhi. The nuclear-capable ballistic missile-equipped submarine ‘INS Arighat’ was inducted into the Navy on Thursday in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in Visakhapatnam. The Defence Ministry gave this information in a statement. On this occasion, Rajnath Singh said that this will further strengthen the country’s nuclear capability and increase nuclear deterrence capability.

In his address, the Defence Minister said that ‘Arighat’ will further strengthen India’s military strategy regarding nuclear weapons on land, water and air platforms, enhance nuclear deterrence, help in establishing strategic balance and peace in the region and play a decisive role in the security of the country.

The launch of INS Arighat is being seen as an important step towards enhancing India’s naval power and nuclear deterrence capabilities. The project of India’s first indigenously built nuclear submarine INS Arihant was launched in July 2009.
