New Delhi. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday thanked voters for exercising their franchise in the Wayanad Lok Sabha by-election and said she is an inspiration for them to work even harder and keep fighting for the country’s ideals. Priyanka is the Congress candidate in the by-election for Wayanad Lok Sabha seat and is contesting for the first time.
After the voting ended, Priyanka Gandhi said, “The people of Wayanad gave me their love and welcomed me with open hearts. Thank you very much for coming forward with full enthusiasm and exercising your democratic rights.” He said, “You are an inspiration for me to work even harder and keep fighting for the ideals of our nation.” Priyanka said, “Every worker and leader of the United Democratic Front (UDF) in Wayanad, and many of you who have come from Kerala and other states across the country to extend your support to me for this campaign, I am grateful to you for the work you have done. “I am deeply grateful for all your efforts, your love, and your unwavering commitment to our ideals.”
Earlier in the day, as voting began, Priyanka wrote on ‘X’, “My dear brothers and sisters, please vote today. Today is your day. A day when you choose someone of your choice and use the biggest right given by the Constitution. Let us create a better future together.” The by-election is being held here after Priyanka’s brother and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, left the Wayanad seat. In the Lok Sabha elections held a few months ago, Rahul had won from both Rae Bareli and Wayanad seats in Uttar Pradesh and later he left the Lok Sabha from Kerala.
