Laxmikant Bansod, Balod. Villagers sat on the road and protested against the contractor regarding irregularities in the road construction work being done by the Public Works Department in the district. More than 50 people protested under the leadership of District Panchayat Vice President Mithilesh Niroti, District Members Rajesh Churendra and Anil Suthar.
It is noteworthy that a work order worth about Rs 30 lakh has been issued for the renovation of the road from village Gujra to Adjal of Daundi development block. In this, the potholes are to be filled and asphalt is to be laid in two layers, but due to the poor quality of work being done by the contractor and starting the work of asphalting without clearing the dust and soil, apprehensions are being expressed that the entire road will collapse in the coming rainy season. It will crumble.
Seeing the situation worsening and thus the protection given by the authorities to the contractor and the quality of work, the District Panchayat Vice President informed PWD EE Madheshwar Prasad about the entire situation. After this, EE M Prasad assured the protesting villagers to inspect it themselves and to uproot the damaged construction and rebuild it, only then the villagers calmed down.
At the same time, regarding this entire matter, EE Madheshwar Prasad of Public Works Department, Balod said that I will go and see the place myself, action will be taken against whatever irregularity is found.
