New Delhi. Padam Singh and Heera Devi, two elders in their 80s who played lead roles in director Vinod Kapri’s film ‘Pyre’ and lived an ordinary life in a village in Uttarakhand, left for their first foreign trip on Monday.
According to Kapri, Singh and Devi have currently left for the Estonian capital, Tallin, where the film will have its global premiere at the ‘Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival 2024’ on Tuesday. He told that this is his first air journey as well as his first foreign trip. Himalayan life has been depicted in the film ‘Pyre’. The film has been officially selected in the competition category at the 28th edition of the Tallin Film Festival.
The Hindi-language film is based on life in the Himalayan region and stars Padam Singh (Singh) and Tulsi (Devi) as an elderly couple who live in isolation in a hilly village while the rest of the residents migrate to big cities in search of livelihood. Have gone.
In ‘Pyre’ Singh, a local resident and retired from the army, and Devi, a farmer by profession, have played the roles. Both of them have acted on camera for the first time.
