Karnataka: Kannada actor Darshan’s bail plea rejected in Renukaswamy murder case

The Uncut

Bengaluru. A sessions court in Bengaluru on Monday rejected the bail pleas of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his friend Pavitra Gowda in connection with the murder of 33-year-old Renukaswamy. Renukaswamy, a fan of the actor, was kidnapped from his hometown Chitradurga and allegedly tortured to death by Darshan and his gang members.

Renukaswamy had allegedly sent obscene messages to the main accused in the case and the actor’s friend Pavitra Gowda, due to which Darshan got angry. It is said that Renukaswamy was murdered out of anger and provocation. Renukaswamy’s body was found outside a drain near an apartment complex in Sumanahalli, Bengaluru on June 9. Bengaluru Police had in September filed a detailed 3,991-page chargesheet in the case, naming 17 people, including Darshan and Gowda, as accused.
