Chandigarh. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday targeted former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, saying he failed to fulfill his promise of cleaning the Yamuna river, which he had made a decade ago. Saini told reporters in Kurukshetra, “Kejriwal himself is the biggest polluter. He could not even clean Yamuna, which he had promised a decade ago.” He said, “There are 28 drains in Delhi, whose water is flowing into Yamuna river.” Saini also claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will form the government in Delhi next year with an overwhelming majority and oust the Aam Aadmi Party from power.
Even a week ago, Saini had alleged in Delhi that “lying and blaming others is in the DNA of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).” Delhi Chief Minister Atishi had recently said that BJP’s “dirty politics” is responsible for the increasing air and water pollution in the national capital. He had said that foam is visible in Yamuna in Delhi because untreated industrial waste water is being released into the river. In response, Saini sought an account from the AAP government of the money given by the Center for cleaning the Yamuna.
