New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal will soon vacate the Delhi Chief Minister’s official residence in the Civil Lines area of the city and is vigorously searching for a new house near his New Delhi constituency. The party gave this information on Saturday.
Kejriwal, who resigned as Delhi Chief Minister earlier this month, said he will vacate the official ‘Flagstaff Road’ residence during Navratri. Navratri celebrations start from the first week of October.
“Arvind Kejriwal will soon vacate the Chief Minister’s residence and the search for his new residence has been intensified,” the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said in a statement. Kejriwal is looking for a house near New Delhi Assembly constituency because he wants to stay connected with the people there.
The party said that apart from AAP MLAs, councilors, workers, common people belonging to different social, economic and political backgrounds are also offering them accommodation. Kejriwal lives with his wife, children and elderly parents. AAP has also demanded the central government to provide official residence to Kejriwal as he holds the post of head of a national party.
