Kochi. Famous film editor Nishad Yusuf was found dead in a flat here. Police gave this information. He was found dead in a flat in Panampilly Nagar at around 2 am on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. A police officer said that this case probably appears to be a suicide. However, he did not give any further information. After post-mortem the body was handed over to the relatives. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has expressed condolences on the demise of Yusuf.
In 2022, he received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Film Editing. Yusuf’s best films include ‘Thallumala’, ‘Chaaver’, ‘Unda’, ‘Saudi Velakka’, ‘One’, ‘Operation Java’, ‘Bazooka’ and ‘Kanguva’. He received the ‘Best Editor State Award’ for his editing work in ‘Thallumala’. The films edited by Yusuf that are yet to release include ‘Bazooka’ starring Mammootty and the Tamil film ‘Kanguva’ starring Suriya.
