Kolkata Case: CBI filed FIR against former principal of medical college; Scientists took out protest march

The case of Kolkata’s RG Kar College-Hospital is continuously in the headlines. Apart from the CBI investigation into the rape and murder of a 31-year-old doctor, the central agency is also investigating the case of financial irregularities in the hospital. In the latest development, CBI officials and lawyers submitted a copy of the FIR of the corruption case in the lower court of Alipore, West Bengal.

According to the FIR filed in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, former principal of RG Kar Medical College Sandeep Ghosh has been accused. A copy of the FIR has been filed in the CJM court on the orders of the Calcutta High Court.

Kolkata: CBI registers FIR against Sandip Ghosh
Following the order of a single judge bench of the Calcutta High Court, the CBI’s anti-corruption branch has registered an FIR against former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Sandeep Ghosh. With the registration of the FIR, the CBI has started investigating corruption against Sandeep Ghosh. On the orders of the High Court, the SIT went to the CBI office located at Nizam Palace this morning and submitted all the documents. After receiving the documents, the CBI registered an FIR. The CBI has submitted a copy of today’s FIR to the Alipore CJM Court.

Kolkata: DYFI activists and scientists take out protest march
Activists of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) took out a protest march against the rape and murder of a female doctor of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Similarly, scientists also protested over the matter. Both groups demanded justice and strict action against the culprits. The protesters demanded a fair investigation into the case and expressed solidarity with the victim’s family.
