New Delhi: Sanjoy Roy, the prime accused in the rape and murder case of a postgraduate trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, reportedly broke down when the magistrate asked him if he was consenting to a polygraph test.
Sanjoy Roy claimed that he had not committed the crime and that he was simply being ‘framed’.
Meanwhile, Sanjoy Roy’s mother has claimed that her son is innocent and was a topper in his school. According to a Times of India report, Sanjoy Roy told the magistrate, “I have not committed any crime. I am being framed. Perhaps the polygraph test will prove this.”
Let us tell you that a special court in Kolkata on Friday allowed a ‘polygraph test’ of Sanjay Roy, the main accused in the alleged rape and murder of a trainee doctor at the Government RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. Roy was arrested after CCTV footage and a ‘Bluetooth device’ was found near the body of the doctor. Roy was seen entering the seminar hall of the college and the body of the doctor was found there. Roy (33) joined the Kolkata Police as a civilian volunteer in 2019. Police have alleged that Roy had married at least four times. Officials said a team of experts from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Delhi will conduct the test.
Meanwhile, Sanjoy Roy’s mother said that her son was a topper in school and was part of the National Cadet Corps. In an interview to India Today, she said, “If I was more strict, this wouldn’t have happened. His father was very strict. Everything went wrong after my husband’s death, my family is now just a memory. I don’t know who influenced him to do this… If someone has framed him, that person will be punished.”
Explaining further about her son’s behaviour, Sanjay’s mother said that he used to take care of me and even cook food for me. You can ask the neighbours, he never misbehaved with anyone. If I meet him, I will ask why did you do this? My son was never like this.
