The controversy over laddus in Tirupati temple is not coming to an end. New information is coming out one after the other in this matter. This matter is in the headlines ever since it has come to light that animal fat is present in the laddus distributed as prasad.
The temple management committee has also confirmed that animal fat has been found in the laddus.
This entire controversy started when Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu claimed that animal fat was found in the laddus distributed in Tirupati temple during the tenure of the previous Jagan Mohan Reddy government. However, Jagan has rejected these allegations.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, which manages the Tirupati temple, has also confirmed that the lab report has revealed adulteration. Executive Officer J Shyamala Rao said that the supplier to the temple has been blacklisted and legal action is being taken in this matter.
The central government has also intervened in this matter. Union Health Minister JP Nadda has sought a detailed report from the Andhra government in this matter. Nadda has assured that appropriate action will be taken after investigating the matter.
Laddu is being distributed for decades
Meanwhile, a new issue has come to light regarding Tirupati Laddu. Actually, the Laddu here has a Geographical Indication (IG) tag. This Laddu is known for its special taste and has been distributed among the devotees here for many decades.
In such a situation, the questions raised about this laddu have not only raised the issue of adulteration but also of tampering with people’s faith. In such a situation, the issue of animal fat in these laddus has become quite prominent.
PM Modi has also received laddu
Between the years 2019 and 2024, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy gave PM Modi the laddu of the temple as prasad. Whenever the PM used to visit here, former CM Jagan used to gift laddus to PM Modi.
1 lakh laddus were sent to Ayodhya
Not only this, earlier this year, about one lakh laddus were sent to Ayodhya via cargo. These laddus were sent here during the consecration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Acharya Satyendra Das, who is the chief priest of the Ayodhya temple, has expressed surprise after this incident came to light. He said that if animal fat is mixed in the prasad, then it cannot be forgiven. Strict action should be taken against those who are responsible for this.
Vaishnav saints and devotees do not even use garlic and onion. In such a situation, the presence of animal fat in the prasad is unforgivable. This is a mockery of Hindu faith. This case should be investigated by the top agency, action should be taken against whoever is found guilty.
