Raipur. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has declared January 22 as a dry day in the state on the occasion of the Pran Pratistha ceremony of Ram Lalla to be held in Ayodhya. Chief Minister Sai made this announcement by releasing a video message today. On this day, neither liquor nor meat will be sold in the entire state.

Sai said in his video message, 'It is our good fortune that Chhattisgarh is the maternal birthplace of Lord Shri Ram. The consecration ceremony of Shri Ramlala is going to be held at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya on 22 January. There is an atmosphere of happiness in entire Chhattisgarh regarding this. There will be a festive atmosphere in the entire state on this day. Like Diwali, lamps will also be lit in homes. Chhattisgarh government has decided to declare January 22 as dry day in entire Chhattisgarh.

The Chief Minister said, 'For the enjoyment of Shri Ram Lalla, a consignment of vegetables will be sent to Ayodhya from vegetable producing farmers from his maternal home Chhattisgarh. Earlier on December 30, with the help of rice millers, 300 metric tons of fragrant rice was sent from Chhattisgarh to Ayodhya for offering to Shri Ramlala.

Sai said that the Chhattisgarh government celebrated Good Governance Week in the state from December 25 to January 2. He said, 'Our resolution and ideal of good governance has been Ramrajya.'

Chhattisgarh, famous as the rice bowl, is considered the 'nanihal' of Lord Shri Ram. According to scholars, Lord Ram had passed through many places in Chhattisgarh during his 14 years of exile. Chandkhuri village, located about 27 kilometers from the state capital Raipur, is considered to be the birthplace of Mata Kaushalya, the mother of Lord Shri Ram. The ancient Mata Kaushalya temple located in the village was given a grand look during the previous Congress government.
