New Delhi. Terming the listeners as the real ‘contributors’ of the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that this radio program has proved how hungry the people of the country are for positive information and positive words and inspirational examples resonate with them very much. Like it.
Addressing the 114th episode of this monthly radio program of All India Radio, Modi also underlined the importance of water conservation, environmental protection and cleanliness campaign and called upon people to participate in it. Referring to this episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ as well as its completion of 10 years, Modi said that in the long journey of this programme, there were many such milestones which he can never forget.
He said, “There are many such companions in our journey from whom we have been getting continuous support. He provided information from every corner of the country. The listeners of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ are the real architects of this programme.” The Prime Minister said that generally a perception has been created that unless a program contains spicy and negative topics, it does not get much attention.
He said, “But Mann Ki Baat has proved how hungry the people of the country are for positive information. “People like positive things and inspirational examples.” The Prime Minister said that when he reads the letters related to the program and finds how many talented people there are in the country and how much passion they have to serve the country and society, he feels proud.
He said, “This entire process of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ for me is like going to a temple and seeing God.” He expressed his gratitude to all the people associated with this program as well as the media groups that contributed to its promotion. During his address, Prime Minister Modi also underlined the importance of water conservation, environmental protection, ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ and cleanliness campaign. Modi said that ‘Make in India’ program is completing 10 years and exports are increasing in every sector and the increase in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is proof of its success.
He said that this has helped the local manufacturers a lot. The Prime Minister urged people to buy indigenous products in the upcoming festival season. Referring to his recent visit to America, he said that there is widespread discussion about sending back about 300 ancient objects to India. Modi said that when people start taking pride in their heritage, the world also respects their sentiments. He said that in the last 10 years, various countries have returned many ancient artefacts of India.
At the programme, he highlighted the success of the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ and called it a fitting tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. He reiterated that Gandhiji laid special emphasis on cleanliness throughout his life. He said, “On October 2, ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ is completing 10 years. This is an opportunity to appreciate those who turned it into a mass movement. It is also a fitting tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, who dedicated his entire life to this cause.” Gandhi’s birth anniversary is on October 2.
Referring to the rains occurring in different parts of the country during monsoon, Modi told about the efforts being made in different areas of the country towards water conservation. In this sequence, he gave detailed information to the audience about the collective efforts being made in Jhansi, Madhya Pradesh and also requested the people to work in this direction.
