Mumbai: Actor Akshay Kumar arrives at a polling booth in Mumbai to cast his vote for the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections. BSP chief Mayawati also cast her vote for the Lok Sabha elections at a polling booth in Lucknow. Mayawati said, I have voted…I appeal to all voters to definitely vote…I want to tell all political parties that they should give priority to issues of public interest.
Let us tell you that today voting has started on 49 Lok Sabha seats of 8 states and union territories. Voting is being held on a total of 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh. Many veterans are in the fray in this phase.
It also includes Rahul Gandhi, Smriti Irani, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Omar Abdullah, Chirag Paswan, Piyush Goyal and Rajiv Pratap Rudy. Apart from this, the fate of RJD’s Rohini Acharya is also to be decided today. Voting is also being conducted on Rae Bareli seat today.
From here this time Rahul Gandhi is challenging BJP’s Dinesh Pratap Singh. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is contesting from Lucknow seat for the third time. Current SP MLA Ravidas Mehrotra is in the fray against him. Voting is also taking place today on the famous seat of Kaiserganj.
In this phase, voting is being held on 14 seats in UP, 13 in Maharashtra, 5 each in Bihar and Odisha, 7 in West Bengal, three in Jharkhand and one each in Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh. Let us inform that till the fourth phase, voting has been completed on 379 seats.
