Jaipur. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has said that maintaining better law and order in the state is the top priority of his government and the police should adopt a ‘zero tolerance’ policy against crime and take the strictest action possible.
Amidst the main opposition party Congress targeting the state government over law and order, Sharma held a meeting in the Chief Minister’s Office on Saturday night to review the law and order situation. He directed the police department to work diligently to provide a fear-free environment to the common people in the state.
According to the official statement, the Chief Minister said that all the Additional Director Generals of Police should visit the area and hold meetings with the police department officials regarding law and order in each district. Sharma said, “Prevention of cyber crime is necessary. For this, the general public should be made aware and strict action should be continued against the criminals. Prompt action should also be taken in cases related to drugs and illegal mining.” The Chief Minister said that the police department should also keep an eye on social media with changing times, for which the help of Information Technology (IT) experts should be taken.
Sharma said that the state government is committed to providing a safe and fear-free environment to women. He directed to complete the work of formation of Kalika Unit for women’s safety soon. Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department Anand Kumar and Director General of Police UR Sahu along with many other senior officials attended the meeting.
