The issue of illegal sand excavation is being continuously raised by Haribhoomi. There is a lot of anger among the villagers also. Due to this, the morale of the sand mafia has been shattered by the Gariaband administration these days. The Gariaband administration has taken big steps like first building a wall and now suspending the Sarpanch.
In this connection, Sarpanch Sunita Soni has been suspended after giving notice in connection with the illegal sand excavation that was going on for a long time in village Parsada Joshi. This action has been taken by Rajim SDM Arpita Pathak. SDM Pathak has also given notice to 5 sarpanches and secretaries in the case of illegal sand transportation. The officials have said that further action will be taken if proper response is not received to the notice.
Sand mafia is defrauding the government of lakhs
It is noteworthy that illegal sand excavation and transportation has been going on in the Rajim area for a long time. Due to which not only the government administration is suffering huge financial losses but the villagers are getting into accidents and rivers are also getting damaged due to transportation. After showing the news, the administration is taking the matter seriously and taking strict action. It remains to be seen how long this strict action of the administration will be successful in stopping the sand mafia from illegal sand excavation.
