Lucknow. A sensational case of arranged marriage and allegedly murdering his wife for insurance money has come to light in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Eastern Zone) Shashank Singh said on Wednesday that Abhishek, a resident of Kanchanpur Matiyari of Chinhat police station area, married Pooja Yadav (28), a resident of Radhapuram of Matiyari area, in April 2022 as part of a conspiracy. After marriage, Abhishek got her insured for Rs 50 lakh on the basis of fake documents, took a Mudra loan of Rs 10 lakh in her name, bought six vehicles on installments and in order to embezzle the insurance amount and avoid the installment of the vehicles, 20 May 2023 With the help of his associates, Pooja was crushed to death by a car.
He told that after the claim was made on the insurance amount, the insurance company became suspicious and on his complaint the police investigated the matter and the whole truth came out. On Tuesday, the police exposed the case and arrested three accused Kuldeep Singh, Alok Nigam and Deepak Verma. Pooja’s husband and main accused in the case, Abhishek, her father Ram Milan and another accused named Abhishek Shukla are being searched.
Singh told that this whole matter is related to a big conspiracy. He told that under the plan, Abhishek was married to Pooja in April 2022. This was his second marriage. Kuldeep played an important role in the whole matter. He prepared fake documents and within a few months of marriage, Pooja was insured for Rs 50 lakh. A loan of Rs 10 lakh was taken in his name under ‘Pradhanmantri Mudra Yojana’. Four cars and two motorcycles were taken on installments in Pooja’s name. Later, to grab the insurance money and avoid paying the vehicle installments, the accused planned to murder Pooja.
He told that Abhishek and his father Ram Milan conspired. Advocates Alok Nigam, Kuldeep Singh, Abhishek Shukla and Deepak Verma were also included in it. On May 20, 2023, the day of the incident, Ram Milan brought Pooja outside on the pretext of giving her medicine. Abhishek Shukla crushed Pooja with his car due to which she died. However, the police had caught Deepak Verma from the spot as the car driver in this case.
Deputy Commissioner of Police said that after this, in November 2023, Pooja’s husband Abhishek submitted a claim to the insurance company for Rs 50 lakh of his wife’s insurance. During the investigation, when the insurance company became suspicious, it informed the police. The police started an in-depth investigation and called Deepak Verma, who was arrested earlier, for questioning. After investigating Verma’s phone call details, evidence of conversations with Pooja’s husband Abhishek and father-in-law Ram Milan was found. On being strictly interrogated, he revealed the truth of the incident.
