The Uncut

Balasore. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that famous personalities like Martin Luther King Jr, Nelson Mandela and Albert Einstein drew inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi. Rahul made this remark during a political rally in Balasore, Odisha. On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement that the world came to know about Mahatma Gandhi only through the film ‘Gandhi’, Rahul Gandhi criticized people associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and said that they lack understanding about Gandhi’s legacy.

He said, “Those who are trained in RSS branches are followers of Godse, they do not know anything about Gandhiji. They do not know anything about the history of India, truth and violence. It was expected that the Prime Minister would say that the world does not know anything about Gandhiji.” He emphasized that people like Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela and Einstein, as well as various freedom movements were inspired by Gandhiji’s principles.

He said, “Martin Luther King Jr., Mandelaji, Einstein and many others drew inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi. Various movements, freedom movements also drew inspiration from Gandhiji. Children of India also draw inspiration from Gandhiji.” Rahul Gandhi concluded his speech by saying that any further comment on the matter is unnecessary. Rahul Gandhi said, “There is no need to comment further on this subject. His world is in his ‘branch’.”
