Cabinet meeting was held in Jabalpur even during Kamal Nath's tenure.

After the formation of the Congress government in 2018, a cabinet meeting was also held under the chairmanship of the then Chief Minister Kamal Nath at the Tarang Auditorium located in Shakti Bhawan, Jabalpur. In this cabinet meeting held on 16 February 2019, many important decisions were consulted and approved. Congress has always been promoting this cabinet meeting held in Jabalpur during the Congress government as an achievement. Perhaps this is the reason why now the Bharatiya Janata Party government has also decided to hold a cabinet meeting in Jabalpur. Holding the cabinet meeting in Jabalpur is very special in many ways. It is being said that the cabinet meeting is going to be held in Jabalpur only due to the efforts of Rakesh Singh, four-time MP from Jabalpur and now Public Works Minister in Mohan Yadav cabinet.
