Paris. National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval met French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday and conveyed good wishes to him on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Doval met the French Armed Forces Minister here and discussed strengthening bilateral defense ties, taking forward space cooperation as well as the global situation.
The Indian Embassy in France said in a post on ‘X’ on Tuesday, “NSA Ajit Doval met French President Emmanuel Macron. Best wishes from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” It said, “The President stressed the importance of India-France efforts to promote peace and address global challenges; Appreciated the initiative of Prime Minister Modi. Doval held extensive discussions with French Armed Forces Minister Sébastien Lecornu.
It said, “The purpose of their talks was to strengthen bilateral defense cooperation and advance space cooperation.” Along with this, there was an exchange of views regarding the emerging international geopolitical scenario. After the meeting, Lecornu said on ‘X’, “We discussed our bilateral defense cooperation: Rafale Marine, Scorpene submarines, space and the international situation, especially Ukraine.” Doval also led strategic talks with French President Emmanuel Macron’s diplomatic advisor Emmanuel Bonne here. The talks “reinforce a strategic partnership of trust and comfort and high ambitions and responsibilities in the Indo-Pacific region and from cyber to space,” the Indian Embassy said in a separate post.
