Nita Ambani was again elected as IOC member

New Delhi. Reliance Foundation founder Nita Ambani was unanimously re-elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) from India in Paris on Wednesday. Nita got 100 percent votes in the voting held during the 142nd session of the IOC in Paris.

After being re-elected as an IOC member, Nita said in a release, “I am very honored to be re-elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee. I would like to thank President (Thomas) Bach and all my colleagues in the IOC for their faith and trust in me.”

She said, “Being re-elected (member) is not only a personal milestone but also a recognition of India’s growing influence in the global sports arena. I share this moment of joy and pride with every Indian and look forward to continuing our efforts to strengthen the Olympic movement in India and around the world.” Nita was first inducted into this prestigious body during the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. She is the first Indian woman to join the IOC.
