Not a single allegation of corruption against Modi government in 10 years: Shah

The Uncut

New Delhi. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Thursday that not a single allegation of corruption has been made against the Narendra Modi government in the last 10 years. Not only this, the laxity in taking policy decisions was also eliminated and India was transformed into an attractive destination by taking it out of the five weak economies.

Addressing the annual session of industry body PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry here, Shah said that by 2047, due to various policies of the Modi government, India will emerge as one of the most developed countries in the world. He said that ever since Prime Minister Narendra Modi took charge (from 2014), the government has made reforms in various sectors. This has resulted in, among other things, improved infrastructure, improved connectivity, digital economy and expansion of the railway network and establishment of manufacturing units for semiconductors and electric vehicles.

Shah said in the session organized on the topic ‘Developed India at 2047: Towards the pinnacle of progress’, “We have brought reforms and economic development in the country. During this period, there has not been a single allegation of corruption against our government. The opposition has also accepted this.” The Home Minister said that in the last 10 years, the Modi government has buried terrorism, leftist extremism and North-Eastern extremism 200 yards under the ground.

He said that when Modi took power, there was a situation of laxity regarding policy decisions and implementation which was ended with decisive measures in a very short time. The government replaced it with ‘policy of demonstration’. Shah said that at one time India was kept in the category of ‘five weakest economies’ but the Modi government took the country out of that situation and now the International Monetary Fund calls it an ‘attractive place’.

The five most weak economies i.e. ‘Fragile Five’ is a concept. It was used by a financial analyst at Morgan Stanley in August 2013. He used this term to describe emerging countries that had become overly dependent on risky foreign investment to meet their development aspirations. Indonesia, Brazil, Türkiye, India and South Africa were included in it.

The Home Minister said that 10 years ago India was a country with double digit inflation but now it has become a country with high growth.
Referring to the various welfare schemes launched for the welfare of the poor in the last 10 years, Shah said that the Modi government is providing free food grains to 80 crore people, free housing has been given to five crore people, 12 crore toilets have been built. 11 crore people have been given free electricity connections and 15 crore people have been given drinking water.

The Home Minister said that India was a market of 50 crore people. The remaining 80 crore people were busy earning their livelihood and did not have purchasing power. He said that however, Modi government ended these problems of 80 crore people by giving them free food grains and India is now a market of 130 crore people. Shah said that in the next 25 years, India will be a global leader in all sectors like manufacturing, semiconductor industry, electric vehicles, digital economy and the Modi government is working sincerely in this direction.
