Sukma: Security forces killed a Naxal in an encounter in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-affected Sukma district. Police officials gave this information on Saturday. Police officials said that security forces killed a Naxal near Tumalpaad village under Chitagufa police station area of the district.
He said that security forces were dispatched on the information of Naxalite activity in Chitagufa police station area. The team included District Force, District Reserve Guard (DRG) and ‘Bastar Fighter’ soldiers. When the team was near Tumalpaad village, the Naxalites started firing on the security forces, then the security forces also retaliated.
Officials said that after firing from both sides for some time, the Naxalites fled from there. Later, when the security forces searched the spot, the body of a Naxalite, weapons and other items were found there.
He said that the identity of the killed Naxal is being ascertained. The operation against Naxals is continuing in the area.
