Ordered inquiry into Namitha’s temple entry controversy: Tamil Nadu minister

Chennai. The Commissioner of the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department has ordered an inquiry into the controversy over actress Namitha’s temple entry. State minister P K Shekhar Babu gave this information on Tuesday. Babu said that if his sister Namitha has been hurt, he expresses his regret to her. He said that the Commissioner has ordered a detailed inquiry into the incident and if the officials have violated the rules of the temple or hurt her, then appropriate action will definitely be taken against them.

The actress had alleged that she was asked to provide proof of being a Hindu during her visit to the famous Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar temple in Madurai on Monday. The minister made this remark when reporters questioned her about this. BJP state executive member Namita alleged that she and her husband were stopped by temple officials and asked for proof of being a Hindu.
